Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Royal Canadian Legion Paris Branch 29 was shut down in March of this year. We opened the patio on July 2 and started with expanding our patio and offered B.B.Q on Saturdays.

Roy Haggart and his group of volunteers served food outdoor very successfully until October 16 and closed down due to the weather. Because of his group, we have survived and have been able to keep our Branch open. We now need your support to keep the Branch solvent by having members renew their membership, to visit the Branch indoors and on the patio weather permitting.

The Branch is open on Thursday to Sunday with times posted on the board outside. Because of the pandemic rules the Branch is allowed to be open with everyone wearing masks and social distancing with sanitizing available. Our Bar Staff have kept the Branch going along with your Executive but without your support we cannot survive.

A number of Branches will close because of dwindling membership and lack of volunteers. If we don’t keep the Branches open we will not be able to support and honour our Veterans who served, remember the fallen who gave us the freedom we now have and help our communities.

Each member makes a difference. If you cannot visit the Branch and renew your membership you can go online to the Dominion Command Web Site at www.legion.ca/joinus/renewal to renew your membership.

Members need to step forward and help run the Branch by volunteering where needed, also think of serving on the Executive. If you have any questions on serving, please contact you President or any member of the Executive.

When you visit, you will see the changes that have been made to the Branch during the time we have been shut down. The entrance deck has been redone, doors painted, a handicap ramp off the parking lot with an automatic door opener, a Memorial Garden to be planted off the parking lot and future plans for a handicap washroom. All this is done with donations from supporters and grants.
