President’s Message
I hope everyone is healthy and doing well.
Our renovations are coming along.  The new entrance is close to being completed.
Special thanks to Alex Faux for doing the inside trim and paint on the new fire door upstairs and on the new handicap entrance in the lounge.
Doug Hanna and his wife have volunteered their time to work on our gardens at the front and to help with the new memorial garden beside the new entrance.
Thanks to Roy Haggart and all of his volunteers, members, friends, students and musicians as well as the patrons who made our Saturday BBQ’s a resounding success.
Special thanks to Don MacLeod and Merv Allum our Friday morning cleaning crew.
Thanks to the County of Brant for the loan of the picnic tables and to John Emerson and the Firefighters for their assistance.
Memberships for 2021 are now due.
The poppy drive starts on October 30.  Please, we need your support to make this a success.
COVID-19 has forced all of us to adjust in many ways.  If there is anything our organization can do to help our Membership, please contact us.
Also, please note the many changes to this year’s Remembrance Day service.
Stay safe, stay well!

Accessible washroom at the Branch
By Roy Haggart

We are moving forward with construction of a new fully accessible single use washroom at Branch 29 Legion. The first step is to obtain quotes for the project. Design plans have been completed and Engineer Stamped. This project is included in our existing building permit.

If anyone knows of a construction company/contractor that would be interested in participating in this project please have them contact me as soon as possible. Seems like a lot of the contractors are very busy right now with existing projects. We have the funding in place and are ready to go.

The push button grade level accessible door leading to the parking lot is just about completed with the installation of replacement asphalt at the end of the ramp. We anticipate an “Official Opening” in the near future and will keep you posted.

We have also installed push button operators on the lounge door leading to the patio. This has proven a great asset already to our members at the Branch who no longer have to struggle holding the door with hands full. The automatic door opening provides enough time for those persons with decreased mobility yet able to navigate the stairs to enter or exit the Branch.
