Vern Barber
BARBER, Vernon Albert – At Brantford General Hospital, on Tuesday September 17, 2013, a lifelong resident of Paris, in his 88th year. Vern was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.29 Paris, he was a Past President and a strong supporter of Northridge Golf Course. He was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Town of Paris. Beloved husband to late Effie (nee MacDonald – 1989); loved father to Doug and Sherri; cherished grandpa to Aaron (Nicole), Amber Russell (Mike), and Adam (Jen), and great grandpa to Ava, Lily, and Heath; dear brother to Clarence “Dutch”, Ernie (Pauline), Doug (Juanita), and John (Shirley). Also survived many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister in law Tiny Barber. Friends may call at the WM. KIPP FUNERAL HOME , 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral chapel on Friday at 2:30PM. Interment Paris Cemetery. Donations to Paris Presbyterian Church or the Poppy Fund would be appreciated. A Legion Service under the auspice of Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 29 will be held on Thursday at 6:30 PM in the funeral home.
