December Smokehouse

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
President’s message
November 11 at the Cenotaph was a great success this year. A light snowfall reminded us of our fallen comrades—those who gave us the freedoms we enjoy today, including freedom of speech and the way we live. President Barry Humphrey
Poppy Campaign
The Poppy Campaign continues to make a meaningful impact. This past year, Legions donated $369,000 to support:
· Homeless veterans
· Bursaries for students
· Service dogs
· Charitable foundations
We sincerely thank everyone who donated their time and money.
Additionally, the Poppy Fund contributed $1,600 to Youth Education. Branch executive Jinny Moore will ensure these funds are used to educate youth in our community.
Canadian Cancer Music Event
Jim Young reports that the Canadian Cancer Music Event was warmly received by the community. Donations increased by 33%, raising a total of $4,105.
Special thanks to all who attended meetings and worked on No Roads Back. Your outstanding efforts help distribute funds to drivers who transport cancer patients to their treatment destinations.
