President’s message
Hello everyone,
Well for most summer is over. I hope you all are doing well and had a great summer. The branch is dealing with a roof issue as a few of the shingles have blown off the roof. We are working on getting it fixed.
GENERAL MEETING. General meeting is coming up on Wednesday, September 20. Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.. Please attend and support the branch by advising us on our future going forward. It is important that we listen to how you would like us to proceed in the upcoming year.
The summer BBQ’s have come to an end. We had a decent year. Without volunteers help we couldn’t have done it. I would like to thank all the took time out of their busy lives to support us and the community.
I would also like to thank all the musicians who played every Saturday and of course all those that attended and supported the branch.
James Anthony played his second of two shows and as always was great. Saving Agnus played to about 40 people which was awesome and Chris Strei as usual was very entertaining. These events were held in the evening. Watch for upcoming events. Come support your branch.
We hosted a poppy seminar on August 19th. It was well attended. Almost every branch in our zone attended. Thanks to Earl for organizing this event.
We have some upcoming events scheduled for September:

If you have an idea for an event that you would like to organize, please let us know.
UPCOMING EVENTS. Some down line events scheduled are a Halloween dance in October. Our annual Cancer benefit in November. 300 Club draw in December. A New Years Dance.
Lastly, we are looking for someone to learn to take over membership. This is a very important job. We are doing this to look down line and find people to be trained so we have a backup plan.

From the 29er Diner and the Kitchen
I hope everyone had a great summer. I know Branch 29 had remarkable success with our BBQ’s this summer.
Many thanks and appreciation go to Roy Haggart who was in the kitchen by 9:00 a.m. every Saturday morning to prep for the BBQ’s. Now, that is commitment. Needless to say, Roy can now have some quiet time and rest.
The BBQ’s would have gone on longer but, the lack of volunteers closed the BBQ’s. People were exhausted.
We thank everyone who volunteered to make the BBQ’s successful throughout the summer. Always the same people. Where are our members?
FRIDAY, NIGHT DINNERS. The Friday night dinners will commence on Friday, October 6. At a later date, I am going to send out a schedule. If you would like to join in and make a dinner, please email me at hcbailey1@hotmail.com. Your participation will be greatly appreciated. I know some of you have great cooking skills and here you can show off the skills to our eager members.
We are getting busy with our Luncheons again. That provides extra income to our Branch. Anyone with high school students needing hours I can use them at the Luncheons and the Friday night dinners. Just let me know contact information. Hope to see you all in October.
